Priceless Glow

In Kannada its called "Ajji Kudalu", meaning granny's hair.

Its a freshly opened up rooster seed. Cought it like this in a forest.

Cool seed! Love the light, pity the DOF is just a bit off the seed, would have been nice to have had the seedhead crisp too.

@Koushiro Izumi: Its a seed, seed of rooster plant. You will find loads of them in the rural areas, at least in India. these silky threaded seeds keep floating alover in the season making the place a mess, I just got one.

What a weird looking seed...I wonder what the purpose for adapting those silky threads was? Distribution to far off places? Preventing birds and such from eating the seed? Nevertheless, great shot!
